Collection 2000 Foundation Review

So in my recent haul I mentioned that I picked up the new Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation. It is SPF 20, oil free and apparently lasts for up to 16 hours. Its comes in a glass bottle and has a pump, which is always good.

What the bottle says "Ultimate wear foundation, fresh appearance for up to 16 hours. Flawless coverage, Anti transfer, SPF 20, Oil free"
So far so good yes?
Well the first time I tried this I was in a rush to go out so I applied it with my fingers and I must say my first impressions of it weren't good at all.

But a few days later I decided to give it another go and used my foundation brush to apply it. I use 2 pumps for my whole face and down onto my neck. It has a strange consistency that none of my other foundations have, Id say it was more of a gel than a liquid foundation as it is a lot thicker and a bit harder to blend at first.

It covers well and leaves my skin looking dewy and glowing. I have it in the lightest shade, 1 Vanilla, and I think its a little bit too pinky for my skin but once its all blended in it sits nicely and looks even. It evens out my skin tone, smooths out and covers pores, gives me that flawless finish without looking flat and it lasts a fairly long time. I wouldn't say it would last 16 hours though if I'm honest, it can start to get a bit oily after about 6hours. But I haven't really been able to put it to the ultimate test. Once on the skin it has very strange texture, not necessarily a bad thing, just different. Its hard to explain really, its like if you put your fingers on your skin with this foundation on and try to move them, they kind or stick or drag. That's the only way I can explain it really.

All in all I really like this foundation, it cost me just under £4 from Superdrug (usually around £6) and I think its really really good for the price.
So I would give it:
Packaging: 5/5
Coverage: 4/5
Blendability: 4/5
Price: 5/5
Would I re-purchase: Definitely

  1. With this foundation it helps to put a pump on your hand and rub it around with your finger til warm. This helps with blending and makes the product go further. Its just too think without this step!
