Review: E.L.F Tinted Moisturiser

Hello

Today I am going to review E.L.F’s Tinted Moisturiser Spf 15, Lillian from Funny Face’s Place said she would like to see a review of this, so here it is.

What they say: “SPF 15 formula helps combat premature aging and protects against sun damage while leaving skin radiant and lightly hydrated.”

What I say: I tried this on its own a couple of times but it offered no coverage at all for me. It is moisturising though and it smells of Sugar Orange, like a lot of e.l.f’s other products. Some people may not like this but I quite like it and once its blended in you can’t smell it. I have however tried mixing this with several of my foundations, I really like using this product in this way. I used it with a foundation that was slightly too dark for me and it brought the shade down enough that it is a perfect match. It also brings down the coverage of the foundation to tinted moisturiser type coverage and consistency. The only thing I don’t like about this is that it doesn’t tell you how much you get in the tube and the nozzle is a little small for my liking.

Directions: “Blend a pearl-sized amount into skin and neck daily.”

I don’t use this product daily, mainly because I use my regular moisturiser. However when I mix this with foundation I use a pea sized amount with the same amount of foundation I would usually use. It makes the foundation easier to blend and can also be applied with fingers or a brush (I use a stippling brush). Using it this way still evens out my skin and gives me more coverage but its not as heavy as the foundation on its own. It makes my skin look/feel dewy and just moisturised. My foundation still lasts all day, and can still be set with a powder if I wish to do that.

Ingredients: Benzophenone-3, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Titanium Dioxide, Aqua(Water), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Kaolin, Titanium Dioxide, Talc, Mica, Octyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, Synthetic Beeswax, Stearic Acid, Stearyl Alcohol, DEA-Cetyl, Phosphate, Propylene Glycol, Magnesium Aluminum, Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Triethanolamine, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, Fragrance(Aroma), Disodium EDTA, Iron Oxides(CI 77491 , CI 7492 , CI 77499)

It also says on the back of the tube “Active Ingredients: Benzophenone-3, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Titanium Dioxide”

How Much: £1.50 or $1
Repurchase: Definitely, although this product is pretty useless on its own for me, I really like it when mixed with foundation. And for £1.50 what have you got to lose by trying it?

Thanks for reading and I hope this was useful

  1. Great review! I like to mix it half and half with my foundation, it's a really nice prduct for that. On its own I only find it gives me little more of a healthy look. I have the honey shade.

  2. Personally i use this a concealer or colour corrector (which it's quite good for) because i find it's far to thick to use as a tinted moisturiser

  4. Sophie - Thank you :) It is lovely for mixing. Yes it didn't do a lot for me on its own sadly. I may try it in a darker shade see if its any better when used alone.

Shell Senseless Style - This offers me no coverage at all so would do nothing as a concealer for me. It is a little thick but doesn't feel like this on the skin for me. Glad you found a way to work it :)

Lillian - Your welcome sweetie :D Thank you, it is awesome for that. Oh yes sorry I should have mentioned that in the post, I have the shade Ivory :)

    Thank you for your comments/feedback
